The founders of the California Ocean Alliance (COA) asked me to redesign their logo to include not only a Blue Whale, but also a Pacific Short-beaked Common Dolphin and a Stellar Sea Lion. This new logo more accurately communicates the scope of their work which encompasses the study of a variety of marine mammals. Santa Cruz metal artist, Ed Martinez, created sculptures in these poses which hang in the founders’ home. I worked with Ed to make sure that the new 2D logo captured the poses he sculpted in 3D.
